Counselling focused on living with (Long) Covid and other chronic illnesses

Welcome!

I am glad you have found your way to my website.

Below, I would like to help you decide whether counselling or coaching with me is the right choice for you.

Feel free to take your time exploring my website. In times of reels, chatbots, and AI, I have consciously chosen human creativity, narrative text, and craftsmanship.

Most people eventually experience a point in their lives where it feels like there is no way forward and no way back. How tempting, then, are promises of becoming successful, popular, and happy in just three steps. Not only does it sound too good to be true, but it is also usually – if at all – only true as long as the counselling or coaching lasts.

Biographies are complex, circumstances are complicated, and every individual is unique. At the same time, we are embedded in cultural and societal structures and norms. Global crises such as wars, the changing climate and ongoing pandemics like COVID-19 with all their negative consequences are not lifestyle choices or a wrong mindset. Rather they can be seen as fates that are in part man-made. At this point, I would like to share the first of two favorite quotes with you. It is from Sigmund Freud, from a letter to Wilhelm Fliess:

Hope

I cannot and will not make any promises, other than to walk part of your path with you, however difficult that path may be, and to understand together why you are exactly where you are right now. Together, we can find possibilities – even if they seem small and insignificant at first glance – to break out of the circle you are spinning in. Or, as a first step, to even see the circles we all spin in.

You might be wondering whether counselling even makes sense in a world that currently seems more dark than bright. Whether it can have a positive impact on your life? There is probably no direct answer to this, and every counselling is a small adventure in itself. However, I am firmly convinced that walking a stretch of the path together always brings about change.

To conclude, I would like to leave you with my second favorite quote:

“Hope – Do not look down, my friend. Even in the darkest of times, there is always hope. Hope for a better day, hope for a new dawn. Or just hope for a good breakfast. You start small, then see what you can get.”
